I started out in jazz. I played the upright bass and sang jazz for ten years - from the time I was 19 until I was 28 years old. I learned a lot about the music in the 30's and 40's but my heart has always been in country music. That is what my mom listened to and my dad played as a kid. I think I am a country singer with a lot of other musical influences.
