A.A. Milne was an English author, humorist, and playwright. He is best known as the creator of the world-famous Winnie-the-Pooh character. He also wrote plays, poems and short stories, and also wrote adult novels such as The Red House Mystery. He was born in London in 1882, and attended Westminster School and Trinity College in Cambridge. After graduating, he worked as a playwright and then for Punch magazine. Milne's work was extremely popular in his time, and he is still admired today for the literary artistry of his stories and his knack for capturing the innocence and simplicity of childhood.
