Abdullah Ahmad Badawi
Abdullah Ahmad Badawi is a Malaysian politician who served as the fifth Prime Minister of Malaysia from 2003 to 2009. A leader in the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) party, he was also the President of the UMNO from 2001 to 2003. During his tenure, Badawi initiated a number of reforms within the government in an attempt to reduce corruption and promote greater transparency within the civil service. He also spearheaded efforts to improve the infrastructure of Malaysia and pursued market-based economic policies. He was praised for liberalising the Malaysian market economy and introducing foreign direct investments into the country.
