Adolf Hitler was a German politician and leader of the Nazi Party (National Socialist German Workers' Party). He acted as the Chancellor of Germany from 1933 to 1945 and as the dictator of Nazi Germany from 1934 to 1945. Under Hitler’s rule, the Nazi Party implemented policies such as anti-Semitism, eugenics, and the extermination of millions of Jews, Poles, and other perceived ‘enemies of the Reich’. His regime is considered one of the most horrific examples of organized state totalitarianism in history. He precipitated a world war and was ultimately responsible for the deaths of more than 50 million people. He committed suicide on April 30, 1945.
