Agnes de Mille
Agnes de Mille was an American dancer, choreographer, and writer. She was renowned for her pioneering work in theatre and film, and is most famous for creating the musical Oklahoma! in 1943. De Mille was one of the first women to achieve international fame as a choreographer and is known for her groundbreaking and imaginative style. She was an originator of the American classic ballet style, often with a folksy, country flavor. She won the Tony Award for Best Choreography for both Brigadoon and Carousel, and was inducted into the American Theater Hall of Fame in 1980.
