Ahmed Rashid
Ahmed Rashid is an acclaimed Pakistani author and journalist who has become world famous for his books on Central Asia and Afghanistan. He is especially noted for his expertise on Taliban and Al Qaeda activities in the region. He is a regular contributor to the international media, and has written for the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, and the New York Times, among others. He is the author of several books, including his bestselling book Taliban, which has been translated into twenty-five languages. Other books include ‘Descent into Chaos’, ‘Jihad: The Rise of Militant Islam in Central Asia’, and ‘Journey into Islam’, among many others. In 2020, he was awarded the Seoul Peace Prize for his work on promoting peace and understanding in the region.
