Alan Cranston
Alan Cranston (1914 - 2000) was an American politician and diplomat who served in the United States Senate for three terms, from 1969 to 1993. A member of the Democratic Party, he was the longest-serving Senator from California, and the fourth-longest-serving Senator in U.S. history. During his Senate career, he was noted for his support for environmental causes, nuclear disarmament, improved health care, and national service.
