Alfred Bester

Alfred Bester (1913 - 1987) was a science fiction author who wrote novels, short stories, plays and television scripts in his career spanning more than four decades. His writing is especially noteworthy for its incorporation of psychology and existentialist philosophy into the story structure. He wrote the classic novels The Demolished Man (1953) and The Stars My Destination (1956) as well as numerous short stories. He also wrote several episodes of the original “Twilight Zone” television show. Bester won the Hugo Award twice and the Nebula Award once.
