Andrei Codrescu
Andrei Codrescu is a noted Romanian-American poet, novelist, essayist, screenwriter, producer, and commentator. Born in the town of Sfântu Gheorghe, Roumania, he emigrated to the United States in 1966, eventually becoming a US citizen in 1981. Andrei Codrescu is best known for producing works that explore the nature and experience of exile, along with a re-examination of diasporic European/Eastern European identities and culture in a rapidly globalizing world. He has been awarded several prestigious awards, including the Peabody and two NEA poetry fellowships. He served as a commentator for the National Public Radio show All Things Considered from 1983 until 2007.
