Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber is an English composer, producer and impresario, widely regarded as one of the most successful British theatre composers of all time. He is best known for musicals such as Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita, Cats and The Phantom of the Opera. A self-taught musician, he has composed close to twenty musicals, and over a dozen film scores. He is also a producer, a conductor and author of various theatre works, the recipient of numerous awards including seven Tony and three Grammy Awards. He is an honorary Knight of the British Empire and a member of the Order of the Companions of Honour.
