Andrew Vachss is an American crime fiction author, lawyer, and child protection consultant, best known for action-packed mystery thrillers about the inner working and criminals of the underground. He has written over 20 novels, as well as numerous articles, pamphlets, and non-fiction books, and is a true pioneer in the field of protecting children from abuse. He is an advocate for foster children, a founding member and active member of the National Association to Protect Children, and has made many television and radio appearances over the years. Additionally, he is the executive producer of the television show Law and Order: Special Victims Unit.
