Andy Kaufman
Andy Kaufman was a comedian, actor, and professional wrestler who was known for pushing the boundaries of comedy and challenging the comedy status quo. He became famous in the the late 1970s, starting out as a stand-up comic but later expanding his appearances to include Latka Gravas, a character he created for the sitcom Taxi, and other television and movie roles. He also gained notoriety for integrating his wrestling career into his comedic act and for frequently performing in character for outrageous prank stunts. He was one of the first "anti-comics," and even became involved in disputes with other comedians and audience members. He was diagnosed with lung cancer in 1983 and died shortly afterwards at the young age of 35.
