Alison Krauss is an American bluegrass and country singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and record producer who is one of the most awarded female artists in the music industry. She has won 27 Grammy Awards, surpassing Aretha Franklin as the only female singer to ever do so. She achieved fame in the late 1980s and early ‘90s when she formed the band Union Station. Since then she has enjoyed a successful and highly acclaimed musical career both as a solo artist and collaborator with a range of performers.
