She had that goal since her freshman year and she finally did it.

I was always impressed with how hard she played and that hasn't changed since she's been here. I knew she could help us because she's athletic and that's the way we play. I knew we could use her ability to run and jump like she does. I think our style fits her a little bit better.

That's kind of our calling card, we're going to press and run. I thought we played pretty good the first quarter and pretty good at half.

She came over and sat down and we talked for about an hour and a half that day and for the first time I saw a spark and excitement from her about starting the season and really wanting to do well. It's like that switch just flipped that year.

She can't get tired, she can't get in foul trouble because she means too much to us out there. If she gets tired in practice, I don't take her out because she's not going to come out in the game. I tell her getting tired is not an option, she can get that out of her head.

If she doesn't rebound, we don't rebound. It's almost as if we refuse to rebound.
They're so athletic and if you turn it over against them, they're laying it up at the other end. We couldn't get stops in the second half because they were able to get out and run.

As far as defensive post play, Pope is the best I've seen. She may be the best shot-blocker in the state in all classifications.
