I guess all things have to end, and they ended (the scoreless stretch) with authority.
Bryan Henry
I got off to a little bit of a rough start to say the least. There was a lot of excitement and adrenaline being my first opening day start. It reminded me of my high school basketball days when we used to bounce around in the locker room before a game. That was the feeling I had. It was fine once I settled down and let my defense work. It was back to the good old Henry.

I was able to get into a little bit of a rhythm there. The biggest thing was getting ahead. Once I got ahead I could start to mix in off-speed stuff, keep them guessing and off-balance. In the first inning I'd be 2-0 and everybody in the park knew I was going to throw a fastball. Once I settled down it made things a lot easier.
start rhythm things made thing
It will be fun to see Auburn again. We knocked them out of the tournament last season so we are going into their park with a bull's eye on our chest. They want to get us back. It will be a big challenge for us but that will be fun.
challenge fun eye big
I couldn't tell you why I had success on the road. I try to do the same thing I do every time out no matter where I am at. I just need to give my defense the chance to make plays behind me and if they do that we will be alright. Pitching and defense are the keys because I know our offense can find a way to scrap out a few runs.
chance time success road find matter offense defense plays thing give
I had all my pitches and was locating the ball real well. The pitches they got RBIs on were right where I wanted to throw it.
real
I didn't change anything - I went out there with the same mentality (that inning).
change mentality
authority end things
It was fun.... BC did a good job of putting the ball in play. The defense was very good behind me.
fun good play defense job
It was a 3-2 fastball up in the zone. He did a good job on (it).
good job
When I threw it, I thought I walked in a run. I didn't think there was a chance he'd swing at it, but he was sitting there waiting on it, I guess. It was a good piece of hitting and a bad piece of pitching.
chance thought good bad waiting run
