Adam Clayton
Adam Clayton is an Irish musician and bassist for the influential rock band U2. He has been a member of U2 since its formation in 1976, and has become popular for the distinct sound of his bass playing. He is also well known for his activism in the fight against AIDS and poverty around the world. In 1994, he was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire for his work with Music Rising, a campaign he created to help musicians in need purchase new instruments.
