Alex Haley
Alex Haley (1921-1992) was an American writer who is best known for his novel "Roots: The Saga of an American Family". He was also a contributing author to Time magazine and won the Pulitzer Prize in 1977 for the book. He was known for exploring the African-American experience and was a major influence in the Black Power movement during the 1960s and '70s. He wrote many influential books throughout his career and is credited with reviving interest in African-American history and literature.
