Anatoly Chubais
Anatoly Chubais is a Russian economist and politician who is best known for his controversial role in architecting the Russian privatization program in the 1990s under the presidency of Boris Yeltsin. Chubais held a variety of roles during and after his period as deputy prime minister for economic policy, ranging from managing the Moscow Stock Exchange to directing the Federal Agency for Atomic Energy. He also authored several books, notably The Book of Privatization. In later years Chubais has been a fierce critic of Vladimir Putin and has become a leading spokesman for liberal political causes in Russia.
