Andreas Maurer
Andreas Maurer is a German competitive skier who has excelled in slalom and giant slalom events. He won an Olympic gold medal in the Slalom event in 1984 and is a two-time world champion, who has won overall World Cup titles in both slalom and giant slalom. Maurer also won numerous World Cup races, most notably in 1988 when he won his first overall World Cup titles. Maurer was known for his innovative techniques and tactics in skiing, including the V-turn for slalom and the spread eagle for giant slalom. After retiring from competition, Maurer continued his involvement in the sport, becoming a technical advisor for the German Ski Federation and a coach for several German ski teams.
