Sometimes in poker, no matter how you play the hand, you can go broke on it because you have a hand that you just can't get away from. Sometimes it works out that way.

Even if he has a pair of aces there, I still have nine outs twice (two chances to catch one of the nine remaining hearts) to beat him. The king on the turn kills me.
hearts king chances beat
When a king comes on the turn, I love that hand even better
king hand love

I have the second-nut flush draw and top pair,.. At that point I move all in for the remaining 0,000 or so. He called.
When you play a competitive game like this, it's going to be a game of runs. We had one early and they came back. We just got out of sync and rhythm offensively. In the third quarter we had some shots we normally make. They didn't go down. They played very good defense and made it tough on us to score.
game good play rhythm early defense made
It's something as a coach you don't like having to deal with, but we did deal with it. To his credit, we've moved on beyond that. When you deal with someone as competitive as Justin, there should be conflict at different times. He wants to win as badly as anyone I've been around.
conflict win times credit
He's shown in a lot of areas how he's matured. You see him in the halls, you watch his focus in the classroom. He's coming off his best semester ever academically. He gets it now. It's one of those intangible rewards you get as a teacher or coach when you see a young man and the light bulb turns on.
man light focus young rewards teacher
The big difference in overtime was we scored first and controlled the boards. Throughout the second half we did a good job defensively allowing one shot. We were active on the glass on the offensive end and that allowed us additional possessions.
good difference glass end possessions job active big shot
Cory was outstanding in the second half. He gave us a big lift at the guard spot and Lonnie had an extra bounce in his step.
big
In the summer he broke his wrist and couldn't play with us. He still came to events, sat on the bench, cheered on his teammates. I think that said a lot about him. We came in and had the best preseason we've ever had because guys were really committed. He's one of the guys who led the charge into us getting ready for the season.
