But that being said, absolutely there are stories that women want to hear about themselves. They want those stories. Sometimes you don't realize you're starving for something until you've had a taste of it. A story where the women are not incidental, but they are the story.

It's not old-fashioned in the sense that it explores a friendship between two women who really grow and mature during the course of the show and are very interesting people. I'm not sure there are other musicals that do that.
