Alexander Pushkin
Alexander Pushkin was a Russia poet and playwright who is considered one of the greatest writers in the Russian language. He was born into a young nobility of African descent through his great-grandfather, and grew up speaking French, German and Russian. His notable works include the prose narrative poem, Eugene Onegin, and the drama Boris Godunov, among many others. He was one of the leaders of the romantic movement in Russian literature and is seen as a bridge between the foundation of Russian literature and its flowering in the nineteenth century.
