Alistair Cooke
Alistair Cooke was a British-American journalist and broadcaster best known for his long-running radio program, "Letter From America," which ran for nearly 58 years and made him one of the best-known British voices in the United States in the 20th century. Cooke was also a noted television interviewer, and he reported for the BBC for nearly five decades. He also wrote more than 12 books and received numerous honorary degrees, awards, and accolades for his work. He was awarded knighthood in 1973.
