Allen Hughes
Allen Hughes is a film director, producer, and writer from Los Angeles, California. He is best known for his work in the influential 1993 drama film Menace II Society, which Hughes directed and co-produced with his twin brother Albert Hughes.
Allen Hughes is also known for the HBO miniseries The Defiant Ones, which he directed, wrote, and executive produced with his brother, and currently has earned 10 Emmy nominations. He was also the director of two other Emmy-nominated series, Empire and HBO's Westworld.
Aside from his television and film works, Allen Hughes directed music videos for a number of artists, including Tupac Shakur, TLC, Young Jeezy, and others. His other notable works include the cult classic Dead Presidents, the crime thriller Broken City, and the historical drama American Pimp.
