The quicker I get back, the better. I'm not one of those guys who likes to stand around on the sideline. I'm definitely a cheerleader for my guys when I'm not in there, but I definitely don't want to do that for a living.

I'm not the one to make those decisions. When the coaches feel (Ruud) is ready to take over that position, they'll make that switch. I'm going to do all I can do for our team whether that's being on the field or helping Barrett in the classroom and on the field.
decisions helping feel team ready
I learned that from Derrick and Hardy. They were always studying and watching film and taking notes. It starts with the classroom, then it's transferred to the field (for practice) and then to Sundays.

Ryan's been doing real well over there in practice for us. I wouldn't have a problem with moving to the strong side, but with Ryan I think we'll be just fine. But losing Jeff is a blow to us.

We still have a lot to show. We didn't play the run particularly well last year, and tonight, we didn't start out playing the run well. We have to be better.

This feels great regardless of what you make of it. We want to be consistent and get a little momentum. We have two good wins, with one on the road, so we're on a roll right now.
good road great
It's an unfortunate situation, but it's part of football. I'm probably in a better head space than I would have been this time last year or maybe the year before. Everything happens for a reason. The man upstairs has a purpose for everything. Hopefully this will be a learning experience I can learn from and hopefully get better from it.

He's a great player. He just needs the opportunity to shine. He definitely has the opportunity now for a few weeks, and I know he's up to the task

We can't rest on what we've done,.. It's in the past, and we have to keep moving forward and getting better. Regardless of the things we have been doing good, there are still some bad plays here and there. We've been lucky they haven't been exploited, and we just need to keep doing what we're doing and pound the rock.
rest past good moving bad forward lucky things plays rock
We're starting to believe in each other again.
