Alice White was an American actress best known for her work in the 1920s and 1930s, appearing in dozens of silent and early talkies. She was known for her comedic roles, often being cast as feisty, independent, and modern young women. She was one of the few women to make the transition from silent to talking pictures. Her breakthrough came with her starring role in 1927’s The Jazz Singer, where she earned high accolades for her performance. She also starred in productions such as The Constant Flirt, Missing Daughters and Broadway Through a Keyhole. White died in 1983 at the age of 79.
