As the drama director, I personally appreciate the depth of the story and its characters, which are more complex than most musicals. It is very different from last year's production for all of these reasons.

The musicals had a good, happy feeling, saying that the world is a better place. They say it's not reality, but who cares? There's too much reality these days.

It's going to be Tommy Tune, 'Tunes' and more tunes. I think it's an exciting and fun season. And since we're best known for our musicals, why not do a whole season of them?

I grew up with those MGM musicals, so I have an idea what I like from a musical. It helped to read a book about making musicals, however.

He's a master of the new school of musicals, moving from traditional musical comedy to a more realistic musical. It has hysterical moments as well as wonderful, heartbreaking moments. There's not necessarily a bad guy these are just two people who fell in love too quickly and moved too fast, only to find their lives have taken different turns.

With few exceptions.. Most jukebox musicals need a story line. But 'Ring of Fire' is basically just a Cash-and-carry anthology of an iconic singer.

The door is now open for discussion. More studios will consider them (movie musicals), but it doesn't mean they are going to rush out and make those movies. But at least there's consideration.

[Does that mean he would create original musicals, either for Las Vegas or for New York?] Absolutely, in a minute,.. With the right creative people, I'd invest, produce, back it just so I could have the upper hand and not have to ask anybody to turn their back on touring.

I think you should make more movies, more musicals. I think the public deserves that. I think this country deserves to be able to get out and foster that talent. Give them an opportunity to become stars. I think the whole idea is wonderful.

Early on, we were the only place in town other than Starlight (Musicals) and places like Market Square (Arena) that did concerts,.. This was 'the' concert venue at the time, and we did 35 or 40 concert dates a year. Pretty soon there were eight other places in town.

Like a comet pulled from orbit, As it passes a sun. Like a stream that meets a boulder, Halfway through the wood. Who can say if I've been changed for the better? But because I knew you, I have been changed for good It well may be, That we will never meet again, In this lifetime. So let me say before we part, So much of me, Is made of what I learned from you. You'll be with me, Like a handprint on my heart. And now whatever way our stories end, I know you have re-written mine, By being my friend.. Like a ship blown from its mooring, By a wind off the sea. Like a seed dropped by a skybird, In a distant wood. Who can say if I've been changed for the better? But because I knew you, Because I knew you, I have been changed for good.

I, on the other hand, interrupt people because my thoughts fly out of my mouth. My handbag's full of rubbish. And I want to do something that matters with my life. Right now I'd like to write plays, sing in musicals, and/or rid the world of poverty, violence, cruelty, and right-wing conservative politics.

Though it's fearful, Though it's deep, though it's dark And though you may lose the path, Though you may encounter wolves, You can't just act, You have to listen. You can't just act, You have to think. Though it's dark, There are always wolves, There are always spells, There are always beans, Or a giant dwells there. So into the woods you go again, You have to every now and then. Into the woods, no telling when, Be ready for the journey. Into the woods, but not too fast or what you wish, you lose at last. Into the woods, but mind the past. Into the woods, but mind the future. Into the woods, but not to stray, Or tempt the wolf, or steal from the giant-- The way is dark, The light is dim, But now there's you, me, her, and him. The chances look small, The choices look grim, But everything you learn there Will help when you return there. The light is getting dimmer. I think I see a glimmer-- Into the woods--you have to grope, But that's the way you learn to cope. Into the woods to find there's hope Of getting through the journey. Into the woods, each time you go, There's more to learn of what you know. Into the woods, but not too slow-- Into the woods, it's nearing midnight-- Into the woods to mind the wolf, To heed the witch, to honor the giant, To mind, to heed, to find, to think, to teach, to join, to go to the Festival! Into the woods, Into the woods, Into the woods, Then out of the woods-- And happy ever after!
