I liked our chances, I thought we had a good shot at them. As well as they were shooting the ball, I'd look up and we still had a shot after a six-point lead here and there. It's pretty emotional right now for us. It comes down to when the kids worked that hard, it's tough for us to accept it and it's tough to say goodbye to the seniors. We told the kids we love them and we appreciate their efforts.

(At halftime) we changed our defense up from one zone to another. We wanted to keep pressure on the ball. I think we took a couple of options away and we picked up our intensity. The kids went after it and got some steals and I think that was the difference.
kids pressure difference intensity defense options
Our defense is pretty aggressive. When you put some pretty tall, stretchy kids up there on that perimeter, it makes it tough on the offense to be able to pass against it. If we stay aggressive and really get after it, we are tough on the perimeter.
kids offense defense pretty
We had a 14-day layoff, so I didn't think we played as well as we are capable of. I guess with that much time off you are not expected to play perfect, even though we kind of look for that, from our standpoint.
time kind perfect play
You get a freshman (Abramson) in there, and he hasn't been around enough to feel the pressure, like the varsity guys do. He just took it to (Chase County) and the other guys started to feed off that, and I think he carried us there for a while.
chase pressure feel guys
Defensively we picked it up, our goal is to hold people under 50 points, which we did. I though we did a pretty good job.
people good goal job pretty
I thought we played pretty well, we shot the ball pretty well. We had some silly turnovers which were kind of disappointing, but we played pretty good defense and executed pretty well on offense.
thought kind good offense defense silly pretty shot
The key to the game was defense in stopping their inside game. I thought we did a fantastic job of that getting a hand on the ball for some steals and turning those into points at the other end.
key game thought end fantastic hand defense job inside
(That three at the end of the third) was pretty big. The kids played their hearts out, but (Pierce) kept hitting the threes and shot the ball well against us. We didn't shoot as well as we normally do, but played with a lot of heart and determination.
hearts heart determination kids end big pretty shot
thought good kids emotional goodbye hard chances pretty accept love shooting shot
