We had to pick our poison: Do we cover the perimeter or inside? They shot the ball extremely well and Devlin was just too strong for us.
Tim McConnell
He's done a marvelous job at Moon. It's no surprise. I remember when he was working with me, how hard he worked -- breaking down film, scouting and knowing the opponent. He's doing the same thing there and having his team prepared. He's doing a great job with his kids.
surprise knowing kids remember moon team hard film job working great breaking thing
They have all the pieces of the puzzle. They have an inside game, good shooters and a good point guard to run the show. They're going to be tough to beat.
game good pieces run inside beat
strong poison inside shot
He's really worked up his game to be able to drive and not just be one-dimensional.
game drive
He's well-rounded. He's not only a good basketball player, but he's a great kid as well.
good great basketball
He's right up there with (1997 graduate and a member of the WPIAL 2,000-point club) Mike Colbert.
They flat out killed us inside in the first half. We had to make adjustments and do a better job of communicating in front of their big guys because it was easy for them to enter the post. They didn't expect us to make it difficult for them.
guys difficult job easy inside big
We really talked about that. They dominated the perimeter at their place. We will do what we have to do when they go zone. We got too many easy baskets and we made them do what they didn't want to do. They would go to a zone and then back to a man-to-man defense.
place defense easy made
He has really matured. We call him Kenny Rogers. He knows when to fold them and hold them. He has done a nice job down the stretch.
nice call job
That was the key. We weren't able to defend him inside. He was too big and too physical. We're not a big team and he was too much for us.
key team inside big physical
